DescriptionThe MacLaren Art Centre, located in downtown Barrie, is the regional public art gallery serving the residents of Barrie, Simcoe County and the surrounding area * includes multiple exhibition galleries, an education centre, a sculpture courtyard, Radio Cafe, Gallery Shop and Framing Services  
Maclaren presents a year-round programme of local, regional, national and international exhibitions of contemporary art, with occasional exhibitions of historical and modern art * houses a permanent collection of 26,000 works of art, including a unique archive of 23,1116 vintage Soviet press photographs  
Education programmes include artist talks, art classes, school programmes and guided tours * MacLaren's Van Go programme brings artists into classrooms throughout Simcoe County * offers summer day camps for children and youth * has opportunities for co-op placements for local high school students * a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization administered by a board of directors

Public BulletinThe MacLaren's Seasonal Brochure is a free publication produced twice a year for gallery visitors and Members of the MacLaren. The brochure contains detailed information about current and upcoming exhibitions as well as special events and public programmes, including art classes, Family Sundays, and exhibition openings. A free monthly e-newsletter is also available to Members and subscribers. The subscription link is on the front page of the MacLaren website. 
The MacLaren Art Centre has information on the Spirit Catcher which can be provided on request. Replicas of the Spirit Catcher can be purchased at The Gallery Shop.
