Description

Description (Service) Free clinic for individuals unable to complete their income tax and benefit return themselves and are unable to pay for assistance.

Volunteers can help complete the income tax and benefit return if income is low and tax situation is simple.

Service Details

Hours Apr 12, 2024 and Apr 26, 2024, 10 am-4 pm
Areas Served Collingwood
Eligibility Suggested maximum income levels should serve as a guideline only.
  • Single Up to $35,000
  • Couple Up to $45,000
  • One adult with child Up to $40,000
  • $2500 for additional dependent


Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as:
  • returns for deceased persons
  • individuals who file for bankruptcy
  • self-employed individuals
  • individuals who report capital gains or losses
  • individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and
    expenses


Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include:
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients
  • Newcomers to Canada
  • Seniors
  • Students
