|Description||Volunteers are recruited and trained to provide a free training program to qualified seniors in their home or in small groups at the Collingwood Library. |
Seniors can select as much or as little of the available curriculum as necessary.
Curriculum topics include:
Windows Basics to learn how to open and close programs and windows, the basics of virus prevention and safe computing.
Web Browsing Basics to learn how to find web sites of interest, save locations for future reference, read the news, learn about, read and participate in blogs.
Skype Video Call Basics to see and hear family anywhere in the world that they might be - using free long distance technology. Learn how to create and account for yourself, and establish contacts with family and friends.
Email Basics learn how to manage incoming email, storing individual messages for future reference. Learn how to save photo attachments in an organized catalogue.
Calendar Basics learn how to use the calendar for reminders, appointments, medications, events etc.
Troubleshooting learn what to do and who to call when everything on your computer seems to go wrong.
