Description	The Historic Saugeen Métis (HSM) are a distinctive Metis community located at the mouth of the Saugeen River, Southampton, Ontario. The Historic Saugeen Métis families traded from the early 1800s along the eastern shoreline of Lake Huron proper, up the Bruce Peninsula, and across to the Killarney region of Lake Huron’s North Shore. The contemporary HSM community is an integral part of the greater Saugeen shores,with its citizens located from Tobermory to below Goderich, and around Ontairo. It provides cultural and historical information, and services to its registered Metis and others.
