| Description | The Capitol Theatre offers professional theatre, films from the Toronto Film Circuit, HD broadcasts live from the Metropolitan Opera, HD broadcasts live from the British National Theatre, concert series and more. Professional theatre is produced at the Capitol Theatre (Port Hope Festival Theatre) and offers 6 or 7 plays per year. Both the Capitol Theatre and the upstairs AK & Bob Sculthorpe Theatre are available on a rental basis to host community theatre and live concert performances. At Christmas time, the entire Cameco Capitol Arts Centre is decked out in designer-decorated trees which are raffled off as a fundraiser for the Theatre. A Christmas 'Panto' has become a family tradition in Northumberland County. A naughty version of the 'Panto' has also become very popular! | |||
