Service: Literacy and Basic Skills

Description (Service) Literacy, numeracy and essential skills services to assist in transitioning to employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education or independence. 
Adults looking to upgrade their skills are matched with a tutor for one-to-one assistance. Assistance for those looking for secondary school credit (Adult Learning Centre) support, post-secondary goals, apprenticeship, independence skills and employment skills. People are also assisted to prepare for the PATI, CFAT, college mature student exam, and other entrance and aptitude tests. Computer classes are also available.

Eligibility Ages: 19 year(s) and up 
Primarily serves adult learners wanting to improve their literacy and numeracy skills to achieve goals of further education and training, employment or increased independence * must have facility in English and literacy skills below Grade 12 of the Ontario Curriculum 
Individuals with grade 12 will be evaluated on a per case basis
