Description (Service) | COVID-19 Masks mandatory. Alliston Out of the Cold is committed to the health and safety of participants as well as staff and volunteers. Specific expectations regarding cleaning and the use of PPE are implemented under the direction of the local public health authority. Provides safe, respectful and welcoming overnight accommodation, meals and outreach supports to those experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity in New Tecumseth and the surrounding area. Facilitates connection to other services and resources in the community. 3 programs offered: Emergency Overnight Shelter, Community Dinner and Outreach. All programming is primarily based out of a building located at 41 Paris. The space is a fragrance-reduced environment. Emergency Overnight Shelter: Capacity of 8 beds per night, operates on a first come first served basis for securing a bed for the night. No late entries. Guests in need of transportation should contact office to discuss possible arrangements. Community Dinner: dine-in or take-away available. Space limited to respect physical distancing. Meal is open to anyone in the community looking for a warm meal and some friendship. Outreach: Connecting individuals, couples and families to urgently needed supplies, services, and supports as well as provide emergency assistance to those at-risk of or experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity (housed or otherwise). Eligibility | Ages: 16 year(s) and up Those needing a warm place to stay for the night, a meal or supports throughout the community (housed or otherwise). Substance use/abuse, mental health issues, etc. are not an impediment to stay. Guests must be able to manage their behaviours and self in order to be admitted. |
