Regular Service Promotes mental health through community education, prevention, and rehabilitation programs as well as provides assessment services to substance misusing and gambling clients (12 years and older) * can provide resource people for public speaking and a library of books and videos for viewing by the public and professional practitioners * can support those enrolled in the Back on Track Program but only once registration has been completed through Back on Track * see separate listing BAR2600 Mental Health Programs Programs include Intensive Case Management, Outreach, Brief Service and Housing Support Services, two Assertive Community Treatment Teams, Human Services and Justice System Project (HSJS) which includes Court Support Services and Release from Custody Services, RSVP (Recreational, Social, Vocational, Peer Support), Early Psychosis Intervention Services, Community Awareness program, Volunteer Program and Self Help Groups * Crisis Services include the Mental Health Crisis Line, Mobile Crisis Response System, and Residential Crisis Beds (CARAH House) Addiction Services Addiction services include 'Umbrellas' a program for pregnant women who abuse substances * medical services for clients provided through a Nurse Practitioner * provides counselling for clients with a substance abuse problem as well as for people experiencing problems with gambling and supportive counselling for others affected by it * services include referral of substance abusing youth to youth outpatient treatment program and referral of adults to appropriate inpatient treatment programs Annual Christmas Gift Campaign Gifts are distributed to approximately 1100 people living with mental health or addiction issues residing in special care homes, nursing homes and in the community at large * donations of new unwrapped gifts such as winter hats, gloves, shampoo, socks, toothpaste, hand lotion and sweets accepted at office Member of the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Support Services Coalition * National Mental Health Week is in May each year |
