Description (Service) | March 25, 2020 -COVID-19 Response Joyce Kope House has temporarily moved to Comfort Inn, 210 Essa Rd, Barrie* call 705-715-1052 for shelter services * temporary shelter is operational for women exiting institutions or experiencing homelessness in Simcoe County * please consider supporting women at the shelter at this time with donations of personal hygiene items, sanitizers and disinfectants, and food Due to COVID-19 concerns the following services are cancelled/postponed until April 1, 2020 * Youth Justice Committee meetings and Restorative Justice circles * In person Trusteeship appointments in Simcoe And Muskoka * Jail Visitation at Central North Correctional Centre, Vanier Centre for Women and Grand Valley - Institute for Women * if you are in contact with a loved one who is incarcerated and needing service, direct them to call 705-725-0613, ext 0 * In-person groups and one on one sessions in Simcoe Muskoka including: -Emotions Management -Safe independent Choices -Anti-theft -Grief and loss -Healthy Relationships -Substance Use and Harm Reduction -Community Maintenance Program Call or email your worker for more information or contact: * Rhonda LeDuc, Director of Community Justice programs at 705-627-6034 * Tracy Wood, Director of Community Programs at 705-644-1393 * Meaghan Chambers, Executive Director at 705-818-2342 Regular Service To support, advocate for, and empower individuals at risk, to enrich their lives and to inspire positive change in our community * programs include: Youth Mediation, Youth Trusteeship Program in Simcoe County and Muskoka, Youth Justice Programs, Restorative Justice Circles, Youth Justice Committee Program, Correctional Programs, Adult Direct Accountability, Reintegration Programs, Jail Visitation & Advocacy, Rural and Remote Community Programs in Muskoka, Joyce Kope House Shelter and Halfway House for women, referrals to community agencies and services and advocacy, Speakers Bureau, College Student Practicum opportunities Elizabeth Fry week is the week leading up to Mother's Day every May Prisoners Justice Day is August 10 |
