Description (Service) | COVID-19 Update Many city services have been impacted by COVID-19 * the City will continue to maintain all essential services citizens rely on every day * for up to date details visit: www.barrie.ca/Living/City%20Services/Pages/COVID-19-Impacted-City-Services.aspx Regular Service A seven acre area located in a natural, rolling setting with earthen footpaths down in the Sunnidale Park valley area bordering the Highway 400 corridor * area is completely fenced with a double gate access system * all dogs must have a current license and rabies vaccination to use the facility * dog owners are required to clean up after their pet. * all dogs must be leashed while in other parts of Sunnidale Park as per City of Barrie By-law 2010-033 * Pit Bull type dogs must be leashed and muzzled at all times within the off-leash area pursuant to the amended Dog Owners Liability Act, R.S.O. 1990 * Call Enforcement Services at 705-739-4241 to report unmuzzled or unleased Pit Bull type dogs * aggressive dogs are not permitted in the off leash area * intact male dogs are not encouraged at this dog park facility * should an intact or “full” male be brought to this facility, the owners do so at their own risk and assume all liabilities associated with their pet interacting with other dogs and other dog park users * dogs in heat or sick dogs are prohibited from the Off Leash Dog Park Parking is available at the Dorian Parker Centre at Sunnidale Park, or along Sunnidale Road and on Coulter St, opposite the Bayfield Mall *there is a Bulletin Board Kiosk at the entrance to the park, available for DOLRA users * garbage bins are available for waste disposal * water is not available in the off leash area |

Eligibility | Ages: 18 year(s) and up 1. This is NOT a supervised facility * people and dogs visiting the DOLRA do so at their own risk 2. Owners will be held liable for all actions of their dogs 3. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the off-leash area 4. Owners must be present, with a leash for each dog, and in view of their dog(s) at all times 5. Aggressive dogs are not permitted in the off-leash area * owners will be prosecuted and are liable for all damages and injuries subject to the provisions of the Dog Owners Liability Act 6. All dogs must have a current license and rabies vaccination * dog licenses must be affixed to the dog 7. Dog feces must be picked up and disposed of by the owner in the receptacles provided 8. No more than two dogs per owner within the DOLRA area* unattended dogs that are tied up outside the DOLRA are not permitted 9. No people-food, breakables, spiked or chain link collars permitted in the off-leash area 10. All dogs must be leashed outside of the DOLRA while in Sunnidale Park as per City of Barrie Animal Control By-Law 11. DOLRA not recommended for children under the age of 18 * the parent or guardian is advised to closely supervise their children at all times 12. This park is for the enjoyment of people and their canine pets * no other animals allowed |
