Description (Service) Committed to helping adults to improve their reading, writing and math skills, to use these skills in everyday living, to reach their own goals and to improve their self-esteem * this is achieved on a one to one basis or in a small group of 6-8 students * adult literacy tutoring is individual, confidential and geared to the student's needs and abilities * meetings are usually held at the Barrie Literacy Council * Tutor Training Workshop offered several times a year * must have attended an Information Session prior to taking a Tutor Training Workshop

Hours Office: Mon, Thu 9 am-5 pm * Tue, Wed 9 am-9 pm * call for summer hours 
 
Meeting times are agreed upon between tutor and student

Adult students 19 yrs and up, no longer attending school * tutoring is offered in English
