Joyce Kope House has temporarily moved to Travelodge, 300 Bayfield St, Barrie * call 705-715-1052 for shelter services
  • temporary shelter is operational for women and gender diverse individuals exiting institutions or experiencing homelessness in Simcoe County
  • consider supporting women at the shelter at this time with donations of personal hygiene items, sanitizers and disinfectants, and food

Due to COVID-19 concerns the following service is cancelled/postponed until further notice
  • Jail Visitation at Vanier Centre for Women and Grand Valley - Institute for Women
  • if you are in contact with a loved one who is incarcerated and needing service, direct them to call 705-725-0613, ext 0

Regular Service
  • Elizabeth Fry staff visit women in Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene, Vanier Centre for Women in Milton, and Grand Valley Institution for Women in Kitchener
  • Visits are to facilitate pre-release planning and to offer counselling and support
  • A representative is available at Central North Correctional Centre on Wednesday and Thursday each week to assist women with reintegration, offer counselling, and to provide programs for emotions management and theft prevention
