| Description (Service) | Nationwide organization emphasizing boating safety, power and sail navigation and offering accredited boating courses * 2016 was the 60th anniversay * volunteer trainers offer safe boating courses to the public * new legislation requires boaters to have proof of competency on board * boating courses include the examination required to receive your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) * also offer courses in VHF radio operation and issue the Restricted Marine Radio Operator License required if you operate a VHF radio on your boat * conducts recreational vessel courtesy checks to verify and inspect mandated safety equipment |
