Description (Service) Writes letters on behalf of non-violent prisoners of conscience in foreign countries whose human rights have been violated as well as human rights issues in Canada * national office is a registered charitable organization 
Each year to celebrate International Human Rights Day on December 10th the local group sponsors an annual friendly letter writing competition for local schools and youth groups * letters are written to help draw attention to individuals suffering from human rights’ abuses and to offer support to Human Rights defenders around the world * local group is providing Write-a-thon Kits free of charge to all interested school and youth groups * registration takes place in October * anyone interested in participating should call for more information
