| Description (Service) | 162 bed long-term care home * 24-hour health care Additional services include: * activities of daily living support * medication dispensing and monitoring * rehabilitative and social services * spiritual care services * dietary care * housekeeping * laundry services * palliative care Short-Stay Care 1 short-stay bed (respite care for people who have caregivers in need of temporary relief) * offered as available * short-stay residents have access to the same services as long-stay residents Convalescent Care, Elston Unit The 20 bed convalescent care at the IOOF Seniors Homes Inc is a short term stay program that provides rehabilitation services to those who are recovering from surgery or illness * stay can be from 7 days to a maximum of 90 days per calendar year * focus of the program is to ensure an individual is actively involved in regaining strength, endurance and functioning in order to support independence so the individual can return home Assessed and supervised by registered physiotherapists and facilitated by specialized staff, an individual's plan of care will include focused rehabilitation, exercise and physiotherapy treatments including TENS, Ultrasounds, Hot Packs and a well equipped Physio Gym * patients also have access to the same services as Long Term Care residents |
