| Description (Service) | COVID-19 Update At this time the resource centre remains closed until further notice * all programs are running remotely except the Children's Literacy Program which is currently on hold Affordable and secure housing and support services for women, children and families who have been affected by domestic violence or poverty * support and educational programs for women, children and families * ecumenical ministry which receives support from the Barrie Community, County of Simcoe, FaithWorks community churches, organizations and private donors TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND PROGRAMS for women and children recovering from abusive relationships * separate, fully furnished apartments, providing long term, affordable housing, (up to one year) with support services for both adults and children CHILDREN'S SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM for children * assistance with social, recreational and health needs RESOURCE CENTRE SERVICES include free clothing and household items * accepts donations of clothing, household items, educational supplies as well as financial donations OUR CHOICES FOR CHANGE LIFE SKILLS DROP-IN * drop-in outreach program * topics include how to find a doctor or dentist, how to use the food bank, how to use public transportation, tenant education, food preparation skills/ nutrition education and money management CHRISTMAS SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM for children or for a family * provide gifts or gift cards for child/children or for all members of a family * accept financial donations as well |
