Description (Service) COVID-19 Update  
  • Resource Centre is open Mondays and Tuesdays, time may change depending on the COVID-situation and public health recommendations, see website for updates  
  • for in-person service, proof of full vaccination is required

Regular Service 
Affordable and secure housing and support services for women, children and families who have been affected by domestic violence or poverty 
  • Support and educational programs for women, children and families 
  • Ecumenical ministry which receives support from the Barrie Community, County of Simcoe, FaithWorks, Central House Foundation, Maycourt Club of Barrie, Kiwanis Club of Barrie, Optimist Club of Barrie, Burton Ave United church and various community churches, organizations and private donors  
  • TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND PROGRAMS for women and children recovering from abusive relationships  
    • separate, fully furnished apartments, providing long term, affordable housing, (up to one year) with support services, violence protection, safety, life skills and goal setting programs for both adults and children fleeing or recovering from violence
     
  • CHILDREN'S SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM 
    • assistance with social, recreational and health needs
     
  • RESOURCE CENTRE SERVICES include FREE clothing and household items 
    • accepts donations of clothing, household items, educational supplies as well as financial donations to go toward Children's and Transitional Housing Programs
     
  • OUR CHOICES FOR CHANGE LIFE SKILLS FREE Drop-In Outreach Program 
    • topics include how to find a doctor or dentist, how to use the food bank, how to use public transportation, tenant education, learning boundaries, safety plans, nutrition and meal planning, budgeting, resume writing and job search skills and many other life skills classes
     
  • CHRISTMAS SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM for children or for a family  
    • provide gifts or gift cards for child/children or for all members of a family (Application required) 
    • accept financial donations to go toward children that have not been matched to a donor

  • Children's Literacy Program at Andrew Hunter School: Tue 3:30 pm-5 pm
  • Closed school holidays and snow days
