| Description (Service) | COVID-19 Response * Crisis line operating as usual * Mobile Crisis Services suspended If you require immediate mental health assistance, please call: Mental Health Crisis Line: 705-728-5044 or 1-888-893-8333 Telecare: 705-726-7922 Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868 to chat Regular Service Crisis telephone line providing 24 hr support and single-point access to crisis services for individuals in Simcoe County and surrounding areas * crisis line is available 24 hrs a day for individuals to speak with staff who are professionally trained in mental health and addictions * Crisis workers provide: * suicide intervention * risk assessment * information and referrals * assistance in resolving crises and securing appropriate crisis intervention resource information * pre-crisis support and coping strategies to those who have experienced significant mental health concerns and/or psychosocial stressors and will secure appropriate level of Crisis intervention ongoing Following a phone assessment by the worker, the mobile service may be initiated for individuals living in the Barrie area that need someone to meet in the community to provide more intensive level of support * short-term crisis beds are available if required following a mobile assessment of need and prioritized due to limited access * mobile services are available from 10am-10pm daily * COAST teams (Crisis Outreach and Support Team) comprised of a Crisis worker and a police officer, may be available for specific mental health and addictions occurrences and needs in the communities of Barrie, Orillia, Innisfil * for more information about COAST or to inquire about access, please contact Crisis Line at 705-728-5044 |
