Description (Service)

FM Tracking program for vulnerable individuals who are at risk of wandering. This includes persons living with dementia, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury, or a mental health condition. Program consists of:

  • A watch sized tracking device worn by the vulnerable individual that emits a unique FM radio frequency signal every second
  • Bracelets require daily battery testing to ensure device is operating properly
  • Batteries and bracelet bands require changing every 60 days

The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County handles the administration of Project Lifesaver

  • Barrie Police and South Simcoe Police operate the FM responders if a search is required
  • All participants are added to the Barrie Police/South Simcoe Police Vulnerable Person's registry
