Description

Description (Service) Free guided self-help skill-building program managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)
  • designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety or depression, or those who feel depressed, stressed, worried, irritable or angry
  • delivered over the phone with a coach and through online videos, with tools to support individuals on their path to mental wellness
  • based on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT)

Public Comments A program of CMHA Ontario in partnership with CMHA Simcoe County Branch.
Hours Mon-Thu 8:30 am-8 pm, Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm, every other weekend Sat and Sun 9 am-1 pm
Areas Served Ontario
Eligibility Individuals must meet the following eligibility:
  • ages 15 yrs and up
  • mild to moderate depression (PHQ-9) score between 0-21 (with or without anxiety)
  • not actively suicidal or has tried to commit suicide in the last 6 months
  • not at risk to harm self or others
  • not significantly misusing alcohol or drugs to the extent that it would impact engagement in CBT treatment
  • no personality disorder and no psychosis or manic episodes within the past 6 months
  • sufficient concentration and motivation to engage in the program
Application
  • Medical Referral
  • Self Referral - primary care provider will be contacted
  • completed referral form is required, see website for on-line referral form
  • referrals cannot be sent directly from a hospital emergency department or in-patient psychiatric unit
Languages Arabic - Programs, Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; Chinese (Cantonese) - Programs, Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos ; Chinese (Mandarin) - Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; English - Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; Farsi - Programs, Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; French - Programs, Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; Other - Coaching also available in many other languages, but participants must have a basic English reading level in order to work through the selected workbooks; Punjabi - Programs, Telephone coaching, workbooks and online videos; Spanish -Telephone coaching and workbooks, online videos not available
