| Description (Service) | COVID-19 Response * closed to in-person service, call 705-739-6446 and leave a message * Information Referral Coordinators are answering phone messages regarding family law matters including procedures, referrals to community agencies, as well as mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods available * Clients can access family advice counsel services over the telephone in the Central East District via new toll free line 1-888-616-0119 ext.18 and in the alternative will also be directed to contact the Client Service Centre (Summary Legal Advice – Family) at 1-800-668-8258 * Ontario Superior Court of Justice will only be hearing matters that are deemed urgent in nature * Protocols will be established to have matters filed electronically at the courthouse and hearings to take place by either video or teleconference depending on local availability Regular Service Resources and services for people experiencing separation and/or divorce * includes pamphlets, publications, and videos * court forms are available at the centre * information on legal services, the court system, and options for resolving family disputes will be provided * Advice Lawyer for Family Law (provided by Legal Aid Ontario) is at the centre on certain days of the week (see separate record) |
