Description

Description (Service) After contacting the 24/7 Crisis Line, mobile support and intervention may be wanted or deemed appropriate by the Crisis Team
  • Crisis staff meet with individuals in the community to provide comprehensive crisis intervention, support, risk and suicide assessment, service navigation, coping strategies and tools, safety planning and referrals to other CMHA programs or other community resources
  • Mobile Services are held in the community within the city of Barrie at agreed upon locations and times
  • Mobile support may be deemed appropriate as assessed by the Crisis Worker or at the request of the caller
  • a telephone assessment is completed with the individual prior to arranging of the Mobile Support
  • any admissions to the short term Crisis Beds require assessment by a Crisis Worker in the community, to determine eligibility
  • Crisis Workers regularly work collaboratively with local and surrounding Police Services, to support crisis situations in the community
  • police are able to access CARAH beds and crisis support directly, for more immediate cases, 24 hours a day
  • in some circumstances mobile assessment may require a Crisis staff to recommend and advocate for hospital admission, based on assessed level of risk of harm to self or others, or physical health concerns that may or may not be related to substance use
