Description (Service) Friendly Visiting - Regular volunteer visits to older adults and people with disabilities who live alone * provides companionship, socializing, sharing common interests and experiences and quality time 
Telephone Assurance - Regular phone calls to check on the health and safety of people who live alone * checks are done by trained and screened volunteers * provides a feeling of safety to older adults and their families

Public Comments The Barrie Office of the Canadian Red Cross coordinates this service for all areas of Simcoe County, except in Orillia * Helping Hands is the service coordinator in Orillia
