| Description (Service) | COVID-19 Update Many city services have been impacted by COVID-19 * it will take several weeks or longer to have service levels back up as the Province announces openings * the City will continue to maintain all essential services citizens rely on every day * for up to date details visit: www.barrie.ca/Living/City%20Services/Pages/COVID-19-Impacted-City-Services.aspx The City’s customer service centre, Service Barrie, remains reachable by email or phone: ServiceBarrie@barrie.ca or 705-726-4242 * Service Barrie reps are available Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm * Residents are encouraged to visit barrie.ca/OnlineServices to apply for small building permits, pay for parking or speeding tickets, and more * Starting July 13, in-person services will be available by appointment only, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30 pm * Appointments must be booked in advance by calling 705-726-4242 The Economic and Creative Development Department oversees a Cultural Grants Program which allows local arts groups and individual artists to apply for municipal funding to support their operating and project costs Two basic types of grants are operating grants and project grants * Both grants exist for not-for-profit organizations that have been operating in the community for more than two years, have a board structure and are Barrie based * Arts organizations can apply for a project grant up to a maximum of $5,000 * Grant applications are due in December of each year, see website for more details |
