| Description (Service) | Educate adults on how to overcome the challenges associated with acquired hearing loss * classes provide information and education on hearing loss, hearing aids and other communication devices, and strategies to improve communication * offered several times a year, individual sessions can be arranged Falls Prevention - Dizziness and balance issues are often directly related to hearing health * additionally, since people rely on sound for orientation in the environment, a person may not be as quickly aware of a potentially hazardous situation when hearing is decreased * therefore, proper hearing health and hearing loss management are important components of falls prevention Member of the Simcoe Muskoka Integrated Fall Strategy (SMIFS) |
