Description (Service) | The Salvation Army facilitates an Adopt-a-Family and Christmas Assistance program for families in need over the holiday season * annual Christmas Kettle Campaign and Santa Shuffle help to raise funds for a variety of programs and services offered throughout the year Christmas Assistance Program Last minute assistance for families who have missed the Christmas Cheer deadline and are not already receiving Christmas assistance from another organization * families will receive some toys for children and food items for a Christmas dinner e.g. turkey, potatoes, canned vegetables etc Santa Shuffle In partnership with the Running Room, the Salvation Army hosts the annual Santa Shuffle in early December * this fun run/walk raises money for families and individuals in need during the Christmas season and throughout the year * Santa Shuffle is the first Saturday in December, starts at 10 am at Heritage Park, Barrie Waterfront * see website for more information www.santashuffle.ca Christmas Kettle Campaign The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is a fundraising effort that occurs each year during the Christmas season * Volunteers are needed to man kettles at a variety of locations around Barrie * Kettle Campaign helps support the various programs and services offered at the Barrie Bayside Mission Centre throughout the year |
