Description (Service) | COVID-19 Response The Mental Health First Aid training has resumed. Due to COVID-19, class sizes will be limited. Training can only be held in spaces and rooms that allow for six feet of distancing between participants. Under the guidelines of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, trainings are not available by video or online at this time. As an option, in place of a MHFA training, the education staff are available to offer video presentations to workplaces, organizations and businesses. Please contact Jackie Ralph for more information about help to support the mental health of staff and customers during this time. Regular Service Mental Health First Aid Provides training on how to recognize and help someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis until appropriate professional treatment is received or until the crisis is resolved. Course teaches:
Program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training A two-day, 14-hour workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. Participants learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan. Goals & Objectives:

Fees | Mental Health First Aid - $95 per person Applied Suicide Intervention Skills - $200 DUE to COVID-19 restrictions, catering will not be provided at the trainings and participants will be asked to bring their own coffee, snacks, and lunch, etc. Fee subsidies may be available; contact for more information. |
