Description

Description (Service)

Plans, funds, and delivers services for the local child care and early years system, focusing on the integration of government initiatives, inter-agency coordination, and the development of new programs and services.

Services include:

Child Care Fee Subsidy
Coordinates and administers the delivery of fee subsidy and financial support to families in Bruce County who have children attending licensed child care, an approved Bruce County Home Child Care Provider, or an Authorized Recreation Program. Families may qualify to have the full or partial amount of their child care costs paid.

Special Needs Resource Program
Supports the inclusion of children with special needs in licensed child care programs, camps and authorized recreation programs at no additional cost to parents or guardians to maximize their learning opportunities by providing individualized programs, supports, and services.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres
Provide services for children aged newborn to six and their parents, grandparents and other caregivers. The centres provide interactive early learning, literacy and school readiness activities that help give children a healthy start in life. EarlyON programs offer support and education to parents, and provide links and information about other early years services in the community.

Home Child Care Program
Approved by the Ministry of Education and licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act, licensed home child care provides quality child care in a home setting. Home Child Care Providers and their homes are carefully screened and approved. Approved Home Child Care Providers are also supported by Bruce County Home Child Care Case Workers through training, seasonal newsletters and regular and unannounced visits.
