Description

Description (Service) Offers free support, education and crisis intervention to women experiencing abuse. Services include:

In-House Safe Shelter Services
  • room to accommodate up to 13 women and children
  • assists women facing a housing crisis
Abuse Counselling
  • for residents
  • individual and group counselling
24 Hour Crisis Line and sexual assault services - confidential, 24 hours, 7 days a week, see separate entry for details.

Child Witness Program
  • offers individual and group counselling for children ages 4 to 18. Helps children heal from the experience of witnessing woman abuse and meet other children who have also experienced family violence. Gives mothers the chance to be supported as they help their children heal.
Community Counselling
  • offers individual counselling for women 16 years and over who are experiencing abuse or healing from abuse in Bruce and Grey counties. Child care and transportation can be arranged in advance.
Transitional Support Program
  • Transitional Support Worker assists women by acting as an advocate for resources within the community in the areas of housing, education, job training, income support, legal aid and legal representation, Children's Aid advocacy, transportation and child care.

Youth Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking Program
  • works collaboratively alongside youth throughout Bruce/Grey County who have experienced, or been exposed to, sexual violence or human trafficking.
