Description

Description (Service) Part of the Emergency Response team that is staffed five days a week with a registered community health nurse and community representatives. Provides family medical care programs that promote health and prevent disease. Offers workshops and activities to improve the social supports and conditions that affect long-term health.

Services and programs offered include:
  • Prenatal nutrition program
  • monthly physician's clinic
  • health representative and nurse
  • foot care services
  • Chronic Disease Prevention Program - aimed towards prevention of diabetes, heart disease and cancer
  • Environmental Awareness Program - water sampling and testing for West Nile Virus and manages other environmental health related issues
  • Falls prevention and group exercise classes for seniors at Maadooki Seniors Centre, call health centre to register
  • Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) and Medical transportation - coordinates appeals and exemptions to health benefits, provides transportation to medical appointments, contact Joshua King for assistance
