The Georgian Cycle & Ski Trail Association
Description
Description (Service) | The Georgian Trail is a 34 km all-season, easy access, recreational trail linking the communities of Collingwood, Craigleith, Thornbury and Meaford, primarily on former railway property. The Georgian Trail is for cyclists, walkers, joggers, cross-country skiers, and is wheelchair accessible. Motorized vehicles and horses are not permitted. Users may access nearby park lands and businesses, such as restaurants, shopping, and accommodation, which are just minutes away from some areas of the trail. The Georgian Cycle and Ski Trail Association is a volunteer organization promotes the use of the Trail, communicates information and issues about the Trail to users and ensures that the views of all Trail users are fairly presented to the three municipalities - Collingwood, The Town of Blue Mountains and Meaford. The Association looks to improve the attractiveness and safety of the Trail by identifying beneficial projects. Collecting and managing donations allows the Association to provide financial assistance for Trail maintenance and the support of these capital projects. |
