Description (Service) | Provides peer-led education, consultation and community development services to foster self-help, networking and leadership development among adult consumers/survivors with serious mental illness and/or substance abuse/addiction issues. The program offers a range of services and supports including: * peer support for consumer/survivors, either on a one-to-one basis or through various groups (WRAP - Wellness Recovery Action Planning), resource sessions and workshops * information on mental illness, medications and other resources by way of the Mental Health Resource Library (such as books, videos, internet searches) * assistance to consumer/survivors attempting to understand and navigate the formal and informal mental health and addiction system * offer seminars and talks in the community on issues related to consumer/survivors |
