Due to the recent ice storm, the township of Oro-Medonte has established a warming centre at Horseshoe Resort located at 1101 Horseshoe Valley Road West, which will be open from 9 am - 9 pm starting this afternoon (April 1st).

Warming Centre Amenities:
• Public Wi-Fi
• Charging stations (please note priority will be given for medical devices)
• Access to restrooms
• Light refreshments

Warming Centre Room Locations Through Friday, April 4, 2025:
• Tuesday, April 1st - Alpine Room
• Wednesday, April 2nd - Alpine Room
• Thursday, April 3rd - Fairway Room
• Friday, April 4th - Fairway Room

When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.In Oro-Medonte, the following locations are available:
