Description (Service) The Ganaraska Hiking Trail is a 500 kilometre hiking trail for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing that extends from Port Hope starting along the Ganaraska River to Glen Huron and connects to the Bruce Trail.

Public Comments The Mad River section of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail is in bad need of some tender loving care, so end-to-end hikers can find their way. Unfortunately, the Mad River Club of the Ganaraska Hiking Club only has 5 members to look after a 50 km trail. A group of volunteers from other Ganaraska clubs have therefore been working hard to freshen up the blazes and do some trimming, but until this job is completed, which may include some re-routes, this trail should be considered CLOSED, at least till the spring of 2016. For more information, contact Frieda Baldwin 705-245-1005 or Jeremy Bonnar, 705-739-7519.
