Description (Service) A wing of Canadian Owners and Pilots Association providing motivational aviation experience, focusing on a demonstration flight in an airplane. These flights are provided free of charge by pilots to any youth ages 8-17. Program duration is about 2 hours and includes:
* preflight inspection - children examine a working aircraft on the ground and identify parts that control the aircraft with a pilot. Will also review an aeronautical chart and identify reference points that will be viewed during the flight.
* flight - a short ride with the pilot where you will be shown how to takeoff, fly along straight and level, and how to land.
* information and certification - your child can ask as many questions as they wish throughout their experience and upon completion, the Junior Aviator will earn a certificate. The pilot will retain a record of the flight and will register the flight with the COPA Junior Aviator Logbook. Later your child can check the COPA Junior Aviator Logbook to find their name in the book.
The volunteer pilots who are participating in the COPA For Kids program are members of COPA, licensed by Transport Canada and all the aircrafts utilized are registered by Transport Canada * the flight will be conducted according to Canadian Air Regulations
