Description (Service)

Provides companionship to isolated seniors, adults with disabilities or people with Alzheimers or other dementias.

Aims to reduce loneliness among people who may have limited contact with the community by:

providing a safety check
a friendly visitor is matched on a one-to-one basis with the client
offers weekly visits at mutually agreeable times
visitor and client engage in activities such as going for a walk or drive, writing letters, chatting or shopping
contact may be face-to-face at the client's home or through a phone call
