Description (Service) COVID19 / Flu Season
Important Notice: In response to the remaining prevalence of COVID-19 and the current flu season, please wear a mask, use hand sanitizer and do not visit if you are felling unwell.
Visitor Guidelines (click)
  • Due to high levels of community transmission, all patients are isolated upon admission to the hospital pending results of testing for COVID-19.
  • Visitors are restricted until the patients COVID-19 status is confirmed as negative and precautions are lifted.
  • Inpatient visitors entering the hospital must self-screen negative for COVID-19
VISITORS should NOT come to the hospital if they:
  • Are feeling unwell
  • Tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days
  • Have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
What is a COVID-19 Clinical Assessment?
An assessment with a physician for those individuals who may qualify for antiviral treatment, or for those individuals who do not qualify for a COVID-19 test, but have symptoms of respiratory illness. For more information see Covid Clinical Assessment Centre Information.

42 beds providing primary 'plus' acute services including telestroke, long-term, psychiatric, emergency and ambulatory care including renal dialysis, general surgery, prenatal obstetrics, diabetes, general surgery, and scopes. Regional obstetrics, critical care, surgical services, medical imaging, laboratory, respiratory therapy, and rehabilitation. Ontario Breast Screening Program.

Huron County adult psychiatric unit including withdrawal services, outreach mental health and Addictions services across multiple sites.

Mental health service include a regional eating disorder program, assessment and treatment of a range of acute psychiatric disturbances, alcohol and drug abuse and suicidal behavior, intensive case management, crisis response, seniors mental health, health teaching/education; support groups, social rehabilitation, and psychotherapy for individuals, families and groups.

AMGH is accredited with commendation.
