Description

Description (Service) Huron Safe Homes for Youth is a free, voluntary, confidential service for youth (age sixteen to their eighteenth birthday) and their families/caregivers in Huron County.
Services Include:
  • Crisis intervention and support services for youth and their families/caregivers
  • Temporary shelter when youth has no other viable alternative
  • Mediation (youth and parents/caregiver conflict)
Short- term counselling:
  • Immediate and long-term planning
  • Referral and advocacy
  • Independent living / housing stability supports
Agency Goals:
  • To support youth and their families/caregivers in developing healthy relationships
  • To prevent and end youth homelessness
  • To facilitate a healthy transition into adulthood
  • To decrease the need for more expensive supports and services in the future
