Description (Service) COVID-19 Response September, 2020. Due to continued concerns re: COVID-19, The Meeting Place building in Tobermory and organization is gradually opening, under Stage 3 Re-Opening provincial guidelines, for specific programs and groups. For community information and resources, and to find out what is open at The Meeting Place call Jennifer or Karla at 519-596-2313. 
 
Regular Service: 
Facilitates programs and services including:  
  • community resource coordination  
  • leisure and fitness  
  • SOAR after-school program  
  • youth programs  
  • seasonal activities such as community kitchens and community gardens
 
 
Provides space for a variety of groups to use (non-profit and revenue generating) for community-building events or to meet or provide services to the community  
Facilities include:  
  • conference rooms  
  • office space 
  • fitness rooms  
  • a kitchen  
  • two washrooms  
  • lounge  
  • tv / dvd player  
  • plenty of free parking  
  • reasonable rent to private entrepreneurs or for-profit businesses and includes wi-fi
 
 
Also offers:  
  • Food bank  
  • Community Kitchen and other food security initiatives  
  • Income tax service for low income residents
