Description

Description (Service)

Provides information, accepts payment of fines, schedules trials, provides intake and manages administration of appeals for provincial offences and offences against municipal by-laws. Provincial offences are regulatory (non-criminal) offences such as:

  • speeding, careless driving, or not wearing your seat belt
  • failing to surrender your insurance card or possessing a false or invalid insurance card
  • being intoxicated in a public place or selling alcohol to a minor
  • trespassing or failing to leave premises after being directed to do so
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Environment violations
  • noise, taxi and animal care municipal bylaws

Offers secure and convenient payment methods for Provincial Offences Act (POA) violations. This service can be used to pay Traffic Violations and other POA fines issued under the Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, Liquor Licence Act, Trespass to Property Act and other Provincial acts.

Satellite court (for offenses in Bruce County) located at 215 Cayley St, Walkerton.

Satellite location at 30 Park St, Walkerton for payments only, Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Application If you receive a ticket you have 15 days to choose one of the options:
1. Pay the ticket
2. Attend court on a scheduled court date - plead guilty to the charge and ask for longer time to pay and/or a reduction in the dollar amount of the fine. Note: under option 2 the Justice of the Peace has NO authority to deal with MTO points. If you are concerned about points you must choose option 3.
3. Request a trial
