Description (Service) Provides assistance to people in need to build health and community in Meaford 
 
Programs and services include: 
  • Emergency Food Bank (see separate 211 listing for details) 
  • Christmas hampers (see separate 211 listing for details) 
  • Community Cafe - on Mon mornings enjoy coffee, treats, music, crafts and activities, everyone welcome 
  • Community Gardens - private and communal plots available to provide fresh local produce to the community * Proceeds from various gardens are provided to the food bank, to community members in need or sold at the seasonal Meaford Community Gardens Market on a pay-what-you-can basis 
  • Meaford Second Harvests - aims to glean good food that would otherwise not be used and connect to those who can best benefit * Harvests are split three ways between the grower/land-owner, volunteer pickers and the community * Contact for more info, if you want to assist, and/or if you have or know where there is food to be gleaned

Hours Office hours vary 
  • Community Cafe: Mon 9:30 am-11 am, year-round  
  • Community Gardens Market: Thu 5 pm-7 pm June to Thanksgiving
