| Description (Service) | Augments the supply of healthy and sustainable home ownership and rental housing units in The Blue Mountains which are affordable to a larger portion of the population * Programs include: Down Payment Assistance Program - designed to provide first time home purchasers in the Town of the Blue Mountains with a loan, up to 5% of the purchase price, to assist them in purchasing their own home * The program assists eligible applicants in the purchase of a home that does not exceed the purchase price of $400,000 * Program funds are available January 1 annually until funds are exhausted Secondary Suites Grant Program -provides financial assistance in the form of a grant of 10% of the cost to create a secondary suite to a maximum of $5000 |

| Eligibility | Ages: 18 year(s) and up Funding conditions include, but are not limited to: For the Secondary Suites Grant Program, applicant must be the owner of a single detached, semi-detached or townhouse dwelling on serviced property, or a detached building accessory to any of these dwelling types, in the Town of The Blue Mountains * Property taxes must be up-to-date * Creation of the secondary suite must comply with all municipal/building regulations * For an applicant on a rural property, an accessory apartment is permitted within a detached structure or accessory detached building For the Down Payment Assistance Program, applicants are first time home purchasers in the Town of the Blue Mountain that do not have assets greater than $100,000, have a maximum household income of $100,000, will use the purchased home as their sole and principal residence and can qualify for a mortgage (without a co-signor) See website or email for more details |
