Help a Village Effort

Description (Service) Help A Village Effort (H.A.V.E.) is a volunteer, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in Haliburton, Ontario, in 1982, to assist needy people worldwide who do not have clean safe drinking water. 95% of H.A.V.E.'s donated funds, raised mainly via its Walks for Water, go directly to the provision of village wells, as selected by indigenous NGO partners who are working with some of the most neglected people in the world.
To date, H.A.V.E. has completed over 700 safe drinking water systems (particularly artesian wells) especially in India, with a few also in The Gambia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, and Thailand. Each well serves 500-800 people. Some wells are over twenty years old and still functioning. As much as possible, H.A.V.E.'s partners are involving the villagers in the drilling and maintenance of their wells. Help us help others. Contact us.
