Description (Service) | Voluntary organization dedicated to safeguarding the interests of cottage communities and their environment. They also provide expertise in environment, land use planning, taxation, roads and other issues. These representatives meet with government and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting cottage communities, including recreational boating, municipal elections, native land claims and environmental stewardship. FOCA maintains a full-time office that serves as a resource centre with information on issues related to cottage communities in Ontario. Semi-annual seminars are held for education, reporting and networking purposes. |
