Description (Service) When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, for relief to residents during extreme weather conditions, rest areas can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres - other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could be used for relief.

Contact your local municipality or visit their website for hours and locations of cooling or warming centres in your area, see suggested locations open during normal operating hours, unless otherwise stated. Advised to call to confirm before visiting as hours may be extended or limited depending on season. Hours subject to change without notice and are closed during stat holidays
