National office

  • Follows the Criminal Records Act
  • Supervises all record suspensions and clemency recommendations

Parole

  • provides information on paroles
  • hosts decision registry for paroles

Record suspension

  • Allows people who were convicted of a criminal offense to have their criminal record kept separate from other criminal records

Clemency

Granted in exceptional circumstances. Can be requested for:

  • employment
  • perceived inequity
  • medical conditions
  • immigration to Canada
  • compassion
  • financial hardship
