| Description (Service) | Community organizations that provide assistance for Christmas are nonprofit organizations with limited resources. We request that you respect their efforts to help people within their community by applying to only the one program that serves your community. North Simcoe The North Simcoe Good Food Box - Plans are being made to have good food box available for December 2020 (will have more information in November) Midland The Savation Army will assist families in need with a food hamper and toys for children. Applications for assistance in 2020 are available as of October 1 and must be picked up at the office, by end of November. Applicants will be called to arrange a phone interview during which they will be asked to provide identification and records of their income and expense. [2020] Society of St Vincent de Paul, St Margaret's Church, Midland has an Annual Christmas Basket program for those in need. Families must preregister, Pre-registration starts Sep 1, 2020, must call and leave message. Call will be returned and applications are taken on first come first server basis. Need proof of living in Mildand. Call 705-526-7585 [2020] Penetanguishene/Tiny Society of St Vincent de Paul, St Ann's Church, Penetanguishene Christmas Basket program available to those in need with applications available as of late October at the food bank. Call in advance for pickup of application. Register before Dec 5,. An interview will be arranged to which you should bring identification for all members of family. [2020] Tay Society of St Vincent de Paul, St. Mary's Church, Victoria Harbour Christmas Cheer Baskets, with food and gifts for children, provided to families in need. Families must register at the food bank which is held at the church, 266 Albert St. - Wed and Fri from 10 am-11:30 am. Registration starts in October and registration must be made by November 13. Register for assistance at the food bank, bring proof of income and identification for all family members. [2020] Elmvale/Springwater Township Elmvale Food Bank provides food hampers and possibly toys at Christmas. Registration will be taken by phone or pick up applications at Food Bank, until Dec 6th, during food bank hours, Wed 4 pm-6 pm, Thu 10 am-12 noon, in the Community Centre at 35 Queen St. W. If not already registered for the food bank, proof of residency in Springwater will be required at registration, hampers will be distributed on December 21. [2020] |
