Description (Service) Support for older adults to helps them remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

Friendly Visiting:
Provides social contact with client to develop a caring relationship

Telephone Reassurance:
Maintains an ongoing telephone link for security and social contact

Frozen Meals On Wheels Program: Available for anyone
Individual entrees are $6.25 and an individual dessert or soup is $1.60. Free weekly delivery in Huntsville. Orders must be placed on Mon. Arrangements can be made to pick up meals at the office Mon-Fri by calling ahead. Special diets are available on request.

Hot Meals On Wheels Program: Available for anyone
Entrees are $6 including soup/salad, entree, roll/muffin and dessert. Delivery available to anyone living within 10 km of Huntsville Hospital. Delivery Mon-Fri 12 noon-1 pm.

Transportation Service:
Helps seniors with no means of transport to medical appointments, drugstore, shopping, etc.
  • $10 round trip within Huntsville
  • $25 for areas 12-13 km outside of Huntsville area
  • $50 for Muskoka area trips
  • $75 outside of Muskoka area

Medical Appointments - Out of Area:
Provides transportation for seniors 60 and over, living in North Muskoka, to medical appointments, hospital procedures, rehabilitation, and alternative therapies.

Free income tax preparation:
Free Income Tax preparation can be arranged with a volunteer for those who meet eligibility criteria. For more details please call office.
