Description (Service)

Health services department for Wahta Mohawk First Nations.

Services include:

Homemaker services and Meals on Wheels program for seniors living in the community
assistance setting up volunteer transportation to medical appointments
community liaison for Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program through Health Canada (NIHB provides status Indians with medical coverage for a variety health services not covered under OHIP)
information and referrals to counselling services, shelter's, children services, anger management courses and more
various programs and events through out the year (ex. yoga, shopping trips, sporting events, Christmas dinners)
