Description (Service) | A child protection and children’s mental health agency * promotes, supports and protects the mental, physical, emotional and social well-being of children and youth Children's Mental Health offers the following: * child and family intervention programs * group services * intensive service programs * preparation for independence program * tele-psychiatry * therapeutic care * no appointment necessary Counselling Walk-in Clinic (CWIC) Strengthening Families Programming * 14 week family program for families with one child between 7-11 years of age, for parents concerned about issues such as poor performance in school, substance abuse, and other behavioural or mental health issues * instruction on parenting skills, and family relations * free of cost and childcare and transportation available * call for details on schedule of program Child welfare is a division of Children's Aid Society (CAS) investigating allegations of neglect and abuse and providing protection for children when necessary Programs include: * intake and assessment * family service * children in care * adoption * foster care * volunteer programs * after hours programs |
